Our first visit here - we love Wheatlands!  Beautiful cottage, especially appreciated the sun room.  Very comfortable and well appointed.  Ideal for our daughter who uses a wheelchair - the best accessible cottage we've found so far.  We like the location and view across the fields - convenient for visiting the local area whether you want town or country - we'll be back!

Wragg Family, Sheffield, July 2017

We have had a superb couple of weeks - the accommodation is outstanding - spacious, well equipped and comfortable - we love the sun room and have made much use of it particularly during the heatwave we had for our first few days.  Burradon is a superb location for exploring the north east.

June 2017

No words to describe this 'cottage' as it has all the 5* qualities we had never expected when looking for accommodation online.  Definitely one of the most spacious, well equipped self catering cottages we have stayed in - we hope to be back in the future.

Sheikey Family, South Africa, May 2017

Our 4th stay at Burradon but first time in Wheatlands.  The accommodation has been perfect for all of us, especially for our daughter who is in a wheelchair. There is so much space and the location is beautiful - walking up to birds singing, what more can you ask for?!  Will definitely be back.

Humphreys Family, May 2017

Our 3rd stay in Wheatlands and still our home away from home!  Fantastic accommodation, we look forward to returning at Christmas.

Balfour Family, Switzerland, May 2017

This is our 4th visit to Burradon and 3rd to Wheatlands.  The accommodation is exceptional, especially since the sunroom has been added.  Wheatlands is ideal for my husband who is disabled, and ideal for socialising whilst being a relaxing place to chill out with all the facilities needed - can't wait to come again!

Jones Family, Lancashire, November 2016

An absolutely delightful cottage, we felt so at home.  Very tastefully appointed - thank you for making our stay so welcoming.

Meager Family, Birmingham, July 2016

Perfect place to relax and prepare for our daughter's wedding - the space works so well.  Thank you for this wonderful place.

Stanbridge Family, County Antrim, July 2016

Martin Family, Ivybridge, June 2016

Love the new sun lounge – such tasteful décor, hope to be back later in the year.

Anderson Family, Fife, May 2016

What a lovely and well equipped cottage, we enjoyed these things:

  • The space – huge living room & spacious kitchen
  • The bathrooms – huge walk in shower!
  • The décor – very pleasant & calming, stone & wood floors, dark wood furniture, beams & wood burning stove
  • The garden – safe & enclosed for our Grand children
  • Comfortable beds
  • Supply of milk, tea etc for settling in.

Thank you so much we hope to come again.

The Hayfields, Debyshire, May 2014

A very happy family get together - we stayed here 3 years ago so know the standard was very high and staff very helpful.  They provided us with an extra table, bench and tablecloth for Christmas lunch with extra guests - Burradon Farm did not let us down and we hope to vist again in the future!

Coleman/Mitchell families, Surrey/Sussex, Christmas 2016

You have a wonderful array of cottages but Jacobswell is truly outstanding, so well equipped. I would definitely love to return.

Baker Family, Isle of Wight, September 2016

Once again, a fantastic stay at Burradon Farm cottages. Having the larger house this time meant that a number of family members could be together as we prepared for and reflected on the amazing day of my daughter and son-in-law's wedding.  The house provided us with space to decorate wedding cakes and sit down to large family meals.  In between, we toured the stunning coastline and enjoyed just having 'down time' here in the cottage.  Being able to have our dog with us is always a bonus.  Thnak you, until next time!

Wills-Porter family, Hants, September 2016

We have had a lovely family holiday at Burradon Cottages, 8 of us in Jacobswell House and 5 in Chaff House.  We were very impressed with the cleanliness, comfort and how well appointed the accommodation is.  We would be happy to return for a further visit.

Jennings family, August 2016

We have had a lovely time at Burradon Cottages.  Jacobswell House was clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable.  Our 6 year old daughter cried the night before and morning that we left because she didn't want to leave!  Thank you for providing such wonderful accommodation!

Henderson family, Vancouver, July 2016

Had another lovely week with perfect weather visiting family.  Jacobswell House was lovely as always - sad to be leaving.

Perfect for February half term. Country feel but close enough to the shops. My 4 daughters loved the horses. Lovely house lots of room. My kids loved dancing in the huge kitchen and the big comfy bed in the master bedroom for snuggling in.

We have loved our 'in between' holiday cottage.  The cottages and staff have both been amazing. We have loved our visits to see the cows the most - thank you!

Rae Family, March 2016

Another great stay in Forge!  It has been a while since our last stay and nice to see the improvements in furniture and fittings, and to be able to eat together in the dining room at Christmas.  As always, the cottage is warm and cosy.  Supermarket really close and only 15 minutes from cinemas and shops in the Metrocentre.  We will return!

Czekirda Family, January 2016

Again, another great stay at the cottages, the sixth now I think.  A wonderful place, peaceful and everything needed is here.

Never ventured this far North before and we loved our stay. Cottage was amazing and there is so much to see in the area. Not enough time during our visit to see a fraction of it – we will be back soon I hope.

Boyd Family, USA, June 2016

It was a pleasure visiting again - it is still a cosy cottage.  The beds were warm and comfy and the panorama and play space outside is amazing - hopefully we will see you next year too!

The Flintoff Family, Australia, July 2015

The Burradon Farm Houses & Cottages are for anyone looking for some "home to home" accommodation.  MUCH more practical than staying in an hotel or B&B. My husband and I, our daughter, son-in-law and 19 month old grandson thoroughly enjoyed our recent 10-day stay in Chaff House. The system for collecting and depositing keys outside office hours is excellent. The ENTIRE house is equipped with ALL the mod cons from kitchen utensils to a hair dryer!  There was even tea, coffee, milk and biscuits provided.  The beds are very comfortable and there's plenty of storage space. There are plenty of lawns where children can let off steam. Our grandson really appreciated visiting the horses, donkeys and - tractor! A 6 minute walk brings you to the local bus stop for going to Blyth or Newcastle and supermarkets are within easy reach by car. The staff are very friendly and efficient.  Would go back there any time.

The Schwarz Family, Switzerland, March 2014

A short stay but will return. It is a wonderful place with a beautifully furnished and looked after cottage. My husband's family were all born in Burradon and remember getting milk from the Youngers farm in the 1930's. Congratulations on making this such a lovely place to stay.

The Morrison Family, September 2017

This was our first stay at Burradon and we have been really pleased with the style and condition of Maltpool.  The accommodation was beautifully clean and the kitchen well equipped.  The cottage was lovely and quiet too with nice walks for our dog and son who felt at home right away - great value for money.

Highfield Family, Augst 2017

Our 3rd stay and confirmed our view that the standards of Burradon Farm Cottages are the standards aginst which all others should be judged!  We have had a wonderful week and knowing that each night we would return to such superb accommodation made each day a pleasure.  The little touches made the stay even better.

Shirley Family, August 2017

A really lovely cottage in a beautiful and convenient setting.  Maltpool Cottage is spacious, clean, cosy and well-equipped - perfect for family to visit - a proper kitchen and a highchair!  Having family in the North East we will visit Burradon again (and again!).  A wonderful find.

We came up for the Great North Run - first time staying here and what a pleasant surprise it was!  Very pleased with the accommodation, spacious, clean and everything you need - we will certainly be back next year.

Devereux-Cook family, Suffolk, September 2016

This is our fourth stay at Burradon and as always we are never disappointed. Cottage so very warm and comfortable - first class accommodation in a brilliant location. Thank you for welcome pack which is much appreciated. Brilliant for elderly parents as everything is on one level. Many thanks and well done to all of the staff.

The Norris Family, February 2016

We had a very relaxing stay in Pele Cottage while visiting for my Mum’s 70th birthday.  Arriving from Australia we had jet lag and we were awake at all hours – it was such a relief to have space and quiet to become accustomed to the new time zone.  I loved the old farm houses and the Pele tower and we had a glorious sun rise on our last morning.  This is our third visit and we will be back.

The Farr Family, Australia, December 2015

Have enjoyed a very restful week in Pele Cottage.  Ideally located for a New Year family get together.  Rolo the dog has especially loved the farm walks, even in the rain!  Everything we needs and more besides, Thank you.

Good well-equipped cottage and well managed site.  Will definitely come again as this cottage has enabled us to stay away for a few days.  Thank you.

Holloway family, Gloucestershire, July 2015

Cottage lovely and very well updated for a disabled person.

Irving family, Cumbria, April 2015

Thank you for the milk & biscuits on arrival. We had a lovely week exploring the North East. Weather hasn’t been too bad for this time of year. The cottage is lovely & comfortable and well adapted for wheelchair users. The lower wardrobe rail is an excellent addition. The only thing missing is some grab rails in the bedroom to help with getting dressed & into bed. Saying that this is the best adapted cottage we have stayed in for wheelchair users.

Wheeldon family, Notts, September 2012

Thank you for a lovely stay. We are originally from the North East but now live in London so this was a great base to catch up with family & friends. We chose the cottage because of the wheelchair friendly facilities and were not disappointed.  If only other cottage owners were so considerate! The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the Jammie Dodgers! Very cosy & homely; hope to visit again. Thank you.
Pat, Ian & Stephanie, January 2012

We have gathered here for my best friends daughter’s wedding. People from all over the globe are here, from India, Norway, New Zealand, Canada, Australia and USA. This is a lovely, welcoming & comfortable place. We enjoyed staying here. It is like a “home away from home”. Great walks, farm life, fresh pure air and weather was very friendly. Really a great place to stay. Would definitely like to come back. Thank you hosts.
The Sheggills,USA, May 2011

My brother and I took our 86 year old mother to visit relatives and needed a cottage that provided facilities for elderly or a disabled person. Our minimum requirement was a walk in shower and hand rails. To our surprise “Swallow Cottage” at Burradon Farm offered more than this. We were delighted with the cottage, the friendliness of the owners and how convenient it was to family and shops in the Newcastle area. The cottage was well appointed and fitted out. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone, and highly recommend Swallow Cottage if your need is for a disabled/elderly person.

Elizabeth, Sydney, Australia, August 2010

An absolutely fabulous cottage fully equipped to a high standard.  Couldn’t have asked for anything better – the farm and surrounding area was ideal for a walk out and even though we had snow during our stay it was still fun.  Thank you once again.

Lee and Louise, January 2016

Yet again another brilliant stay at Burradon Farm.  Rose Cottage was just as nice as Honeysuckle Cottage which we had last year – a perfect holiday retreat, a definite piece of heaven on earth!

The Faulkner Family, Essex, September 2015

Debby, Bryson and Maia, Fife, Scotland, August 2015

Stay number 10 and we love it as much as ever. Perfect base to visit friends and revisit old haunts. We are already looking forward to being back in a couple of months.

The Webbs & Stanley the dog, Leicester, September 2014

Rose Cottage certainly exceeded our expectations with delightful décor and absolutely everything that was necessary for an enjoyable stay was there. We have already and will continue to recommend Burradon Farm Cottages to all our friends.

Jacksons, 2 Geordies from Western Australia, August 2013

This is sixth visit in four years and it still remains an excellent place to stay and everyone is helpful and friendly. We will be back again.

The Wills, Surrey, August 2014

I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for 9 months. The location was ideal in terms of distance from where I was working but was also within easy reach of not only Cramlington and the surrounding area but Newcastle itself was only a mere 10 minutes away. I wanted something rural even though the farm cottage was only a mile from the edge of Cramlington, I could easily have thought I was in the middle of the countryside and not just because I was surrounded by fields of not just grass but donkeys, horses, goats and various other animals which kids would love as much as I did. The cottage itself was clean and spacious, well equipped and still held all its charm with its wooden beams and spilt door entrance. It was well furnished and maintained throughout. The garden was great for when we get a rare glimpse of the sun. I found the proprietors very helpful indeed and they made my stay very pleasurable. I would recommend this accommodation to anybody.
M.Thorpe (Long term business stay), April 2010

This was our second stay at Burradon - really enjoyed the cottage and the lovely garden where our grandson took his first steps! We will return!
